We are pleased to announce, a collaboration between McArthur Glen Designer Outlet Bridgend and Gravelles mobility and lifestyle.
McArthur Glen Designer Outlet of Bridgend, has recognized the potential to further improve their services for the disabled and elderly community creating greater levels of inclusion, accessibility and integration within their retail experience, in accordance with the concerns of the local disabled and elderly community and compliancy to the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA).
McArthur Glen of Bridgend, already delivers an excellent retail services to over 4.2 million people living within 90 minutes drive of the Bridgend designer outlet, with an excess of 4.4 million shoppers visiting each year, and parking for over 1,800 cars.
Comprised of 90 stores over an area of 21,500 m including a 9 screen cinema, the Bridgend designer outlet is an outstanding opportunity to stores. With representation from such notable names as Karen Millen, Calvin Klein jeans, Nike factory store, Marks & Spencer outlet, Clarks, Adidas and Austin Reed. What’s more the facility is attracting even further investment in the form of Next, Gap and others.
It is obvious that the environment of McArthur Glen, Bridgend has been designed to facilitate all segments of society and is ideally suited for the disabled and elderly, being positioned on one level with minimal rises and obstacles to all, including the wheelchair user.
Although McArthur Glen has excellent services for the disabled community Wayne Morgan MBE, facilities manager recognized that there was a clear potential for further improvement, therefore enhancing their retail experience within the McArthur Glen brand.
With this community minded spirit, Wayne Morgan MBE, contacted Gravelles Mobility and Lifestyle as a local business, with a unique opportunity to initially supply three mobility scooters, intended for rental at the McArthur Glen facility in Bridgend.
We at Gravelles Mobility Lifestyle were only too pleased to be of assistance with this civic minded project. Therefore, on the 14th of December 2006 we proudly delivered, three very attractive, cherry red mobility scooters. The three mobility scooters are positioned just inside the food hall to the left, and are available for rental from the Customer Information Desk.
Upon delivery Wayne Morgan MBE, commented " This is just the start of an exciting relationship between Gravelles Mobility and Lifestyle and McArthur Glen Designer Outlet Bridgend. With Dr Gravelles help and advice we will be able to further improve the retail experience for all elderly and disabled customers."
It is anticipated that future collaborative projects between McArthur Glen Designer Outlet Bridgend and Gravelles Mobility and Lifestyle, will include :- an improvement to the disability access facilities to the rear coach car park to the shopping area, and extensive disability access audit of all the facilities, and a further delivery of increased numbers of mobility scooters.
