Guide to Riser Recliner Chairs.

Riser recliner chairs can help to provide enormous health benefits to those who are suffering from a wide range of medical conditions, including arthritis, asthma, circulation problems and back pain or people who spend a lot of time in an armchair, the additional seating positions that a riser and recline chair can provide, can reduce the risk of pressure sores, and other conditions.

Riser recliner chairs help the user to get in and out of the armchair easily. They are simple to use and are operated by a handset which is often attached to the chair, so that it can’t be mislaid and is to hand when needed.

Rise and recline chairs are electrically operated by pressing the relevant button on the handset. If the chair is in a seated position, it can be raised using the handset and once it is at its maximum height, the user can then perch on the edge of the seat, use the handset to lower the chair to the required position. When the user wants to stand up, pressing the relevant button will raise the chair and the user from a seated position to an almost standing position.

Rise and recline come with either one or two motors. One motor models aren’t as adjustable as models with two motors. Riser recliner chairs with two motors allow the back rest and the footrest to be adjusted independently of each other. The back rest and the footrest are adjusted simultaneously on single motor models. This can lead to the backrest being in the right position, but not the footrest. As well as providing additional support and comfort, electric lift chairs lower the user from an almost standing position to a seated position, and vice versa, raising from a seated, or even lying position, to a standing position. This can be very beneficial making standing up and sitting down a great deal easier that using a traditional style of armchair ..

There is a huge range of rise and recline in a variety of colours, materials, styles or even part of a suite, so you’ll be sure to find one suitable for your home décor and colour scheme. They also come in different sizes to best suite the user, aiding support and comfort. Modern rise and recline chairs have additional anti-trap features so that in the event of something getting caught in the mechanism, the chair will not function. Even practicality has been thought of with some having pockets, storage compartments, and even trays which are stored in the arm rest.

A rise and recline chair can provide health benefits, and help to maintain or regain independence, and are often recommended by health experts and Occupational Therapists.
