The Bariatric Med Sled has been designed for the safe movement of plus size individuals in emergency situations. The Sled has all the same functionality and benefits of the Standard Med Sled, but is 30cm wider to enable the safe vertical and horizontal evacuation of larger patients.

Features include Med Sled’s patented perimeter tether, which provides stabilisation to the patient when being lowered off a bed or descending flights of stairs and the specially designed stairwell breaking system, to enable operators to move the sled down staircases in a safe controlled manner and helps to reduce the risk of manual handling injuries – this is especially important when dealing with larger individuals.

The curved sides of the Bariatric Med Sled provide extra protection to the individual while being moved. This design also makes this evacuation sled ideal for moving critical care patients who may need additional equipment such as, a spinal board or basket stretcher, IV bags, Oxygen and other small devices.

Other standard features include three extended cross straps with metal side release buckles and foot end T-strap, foot-end pulling handle and 8 carry handles. Each sled rolls up compactly to fit inside a carry bag – single shoulder strap bag supplied with every sled.

Additional accessories sold separately include wall mounting brackets – for use where banisters and handrails are not suitable for the stair braking system and storage cases.
