The Med Sled Tactical Rescue System has been developed to enable the rapid rescue and evacuation of casualties, from difficult or even hostile situations such as combat zones, mass shooting incidents and terrorist attacks.
Designed to facilitate a one rescuer extraction. The sled features Med Sleds patented perimeter tether – which provides stabilisation to the sled when being moved, and an integrated rescuer tether which can be attached around the waist or shoulder, for easy horizontal movement.
This combination allows a single rescuer to move the casualty while remaining hands-free to carry equipment or even operate a weapon if needed. Both tethers come pre-assembled on every sled for quick easy deployment.
Med Sleds Tactical Rescue system is 15cm (6 inches) shorter in width than other sleds in this range, which means it does not completely cocoon the occupant, allowing them to use their hands if they are able. Although this sled is narrower in design, it is still large enough to accommodate a backboard or stokes basket.
Made entirely from durable high-density polyethylene which protects the casualty and enables the sled to move over the toughest of ground such as sand, thick brush, and urban terrain. The sled can also be used for building extractions.
Other features include three patient securing straps with a foot-end T-strap, eight handles for lifting if needed, foot-end pulling handle and a single strapped compact carry bag.
