The Youth Med Sled boasts all the benefits and functionality of the Standard Med Sled in a shorter, narrower design to enable the safe, secure vertical and horizontal evacuation of children and individuals under 5ft tall.
The unique patented perimeter tether on the Junior Med Sled provides patient stabilisation when being lowered from a bed or descending staircases. While the specially designed stairwell braking system allows for a safe and controlled stair descent of individuals 2 or 3 times the weight of the operator and decreases the risk of manual handling injuries. Both the tether and braking system come preassembled on every sled for simple, fast deployment in emergency situations.
The sides of the Med Sled are curved to provide maximum protection to the user during the evacuation process. This design also enables the sled to accommodate a backboard or basket stretcher, bedding, IV bags, oxygen cylinders and other small devices needed for critical care patients.
Other features include, three securing cross straps with metal side release buckles and foot-end T-strap to provide extra support to the patient, foot-end pulling handle for horizontal movement and 6 carry handles.
After use, each sled rolls up compactly enabling it to be stored inside a lightweight carry bag – single shoulder strap bag supplied with every sled.
Additional accessories sold separately include wall mounting brackets – for use where banisters and handrails aren’t suitable for the stair braking system and storage cases.
